LHM – October 2022 Message

SERVING HUMBLY

Why does God let it snow so much? Snowstorms have encouraged us to work together and help each other out.   One Sunday morning, two men shoveled out all their apartment residents.   The car stuck at the school parking lot was shoveled out and pushed by a bunch of teenagers.  The enjoyment you experience helping others can become a permanent part of your life.  Get involved in your neighbor’s lives.  God knows how service will bless us as well the community around us.

Service is a great way to put aside our self-centeredness and notice how we are connected, even indebted,to others.    When we start seeing the genuine needs of others, it deters our own sense of entitlement.  None ofus became the people we are alone,  but by the sacrifice and investment of many others from our earliest years.

And that does not take into account what Jesus has done for us.   Serving others not only reveals the bondsbetween us;  it reflects the love of God.   He sent His Son Jesus. to be a servant and to humble Himself.  His grace.that goes beyond our understanding.. He frees us to serve one another.  Let it snow.
