LHM – November 2014 Message

First Things First

Jesus gave Himself that we might be rescued from the penalty of sin.  God’s supreme act of kindness should never be denied, demoted, or ignored.  St. Paul understood that and got it right when he wrote, “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.  For His sake, I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him.”

A Prayer: Dear Lord, Forgive me for the times I let other things get in between us.  Grant me the wisdom to have proper priorities and give me the vision to see and appreciate the greatness of the Savior’s sacrifice.  In His name, I ask it.  Amen

News from the Orphan Grain Train

Minnesota South Branch has been busy sorting and packing a shipment for Latin America Lutheran Missions in Laredo, Texas.  The inventory includes over 14,000 Kids Against Hunger meals, school supplies, stuffed toys, medical supplies, medical linens, medical equipment, hygiene kits, cleaning kits, 19 boxes of clothing, bed linens, and 368 boxes of quilts.  Some of the 1300 plus pillow case dresses collected by the LWML were shipped to Haiti and given to a girls program.  These are the first new dresses some of these Haitian girls have ever received.  The grateful girls along with program director, “Ysmaille” say “Thank you, to the persons that made and donated those pretty dresses.”
