IT’S GROWING SEASON
Music and color play an important role in the life of God’s worshipping people. Music
is the handmaiden to theology. As we take a familiar seat in our house of worship on
any given Sunday morning, the soothing sounds we hear engage our emotions and
intellect. Colors are pleasing as well, stimulating our senses. Color allows us to see the
Light Of Life, Jesus Christ.
It serves to communicate the message of salvation. Color is God’s way of giving
pleasure to us who live in this beautiful world.
The days after Pentecost Sunday begin the second and makes the most of the
latter half of the church year. The Season of the Church celebrates Jesus teachings. It’s
the time for us to get to work in the life we have been given to live. This ‘ Season of
the Green Meadow ‘ reflects how Jesus touched people’s lives and shared God’s use of
grace. This is when the church is usually decorated in green, symbolizing life and hope.
As plants sprout and bring out new buds and leaves in the summer growth, we
should use this time to grow in our faith and mature as disciples of Jesus Christ. That’s
why this ‘ Green Meadow ‘ time is so lengthy.
As Christians, you are part of what God is doing through the Lutheran Hour
Ministries.
