It is time to start thinking about Silent Auction items for Maifest! Your donation items can be brought to church any time from now until Mother’s Day weekend, May 9-10. Items that work well for baskets are the following:
Consumables: Homemade pickles, jams & jellies, salsa’s, etc. “Minnesota grown” maple syrup & wild rice. Fine chocolates and candies.
Non consumables: Baskets, wine goblets, candles, embroidered items, vintage linens, antique books of any language, homemade birdhouses
Potted plants are always very popular. You can bring these the Friday before Maifest, so they are fresh. We just want a heads up the Sunday before so we have an idea of how many to expect for when we are laying out the auction items.
If you have items that can help fill a hole, or finish out a basket, these are always helpful. This could be a bag of coffee (small size or samples are fine, too), small cute designed notebooks, drink coasters, wine stoppers, some candy bars, or wrapped candy that we can place into a goblet in a basket.
Anyone who has German, Austrian or Swiss items they wish to dispose of, we would be happy to include them in the silent auction baskets as well. Items must be in good condition and can be dropped off at St. Peter in a weather resistant package (garbage bag). You may also call or email St. Peter to set up pickups. Bavarian clothing also accepted.
If you have any questions, please contact Ruth Bury or Sue Eickschen.
