Spiritual Power
This Lenten Season is preparation for Easter. It is a time to be penitent as we review our own sinfulness. We focus on the cross of Christ for our salvation from all that would separate us from God’s love. Jesus’ death was the way God chose to rescue us from our sinful condition.
Lent is a time for contemplation, but not despair. Jesus died on the cross promising His loving grace, forgiveness and new lives for us. He asks us to come to Him and take a big breath of His peace. We take this time of quiet meditation and turn our thoughts from sin and uplift our hearts. God assures us through the Gospel, the Holy Spirit works to strengthen faith, to comfort us and to give us power to love as disciples of Jesus.
