IT’S ALL ON GOD, IT’S ALL ON US.
We live in the weeks after Pentecost; the season the church calls Ordinary time. Not ”plain or routine” ordinary, but ”things in order” ordinary.and the church numbers each week. Sept 1 is the fifteenth week of Ordinary time and continues into November.
With the wind of the Holy Spirit in our sails, our task ahead is to look at what Jesus so sternly taught His disciples. We need to see what in His teachings we can learn and use to carry out the work we need to do. The spiritual meaning for the month of September revolves around the themes of service, responsibility, and self-sacrifice.
September represents the harvest season in many cultures, a time when the fruits of our labor are gathered and celebrated. It’s a great month to harvest in preparation for the coming winter months.. Abundance rewards hard work and perseverance to provide the comfort we need to be able to go out in the world to care for others.
One of the most notable signs of September is the vibrant display of colors as the leaves change from green to an array of reds, yellows and oranges. This transition reminds us that change is a natural part of life and that we should embrace it rather than resist it. It’s a time for reflecting on the passing season and embracing the opportunities for renewal and growth. As the trees shed their leaves, September invites us to let go of things that no longer serve us. It’s a time to release old habits, negative emotions and anything that inhibits our personal growth. Our spiritual journey is a continuous cycle of maturing and just like nature, we go through periods of inactiveness and rebirth. Gardens require tending and care and our inner lives also need nurturing. September invites to cultivate self-love, self-care and self-discovery.
Our daily lives are filled with hustle and bustle, noise and distractions. We should create moments of silence and solitude when we can appreciate the blessings in our lives. As September approaches, let’s embrace the changing seasons, both outwardly and inwardly. Let’s use our time for self reflection, growth and renewed intentions to open ourselves to more abundance and happiness..
