HONOR THE PAST, CELEBRATE THE PRESENT, EMBRACE THE FUTURE
This September 17 will mark a day of festivities at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Watertown, MN. Many will gather to celebrate 150 years of God’s faithfulness. A small group of German believers joined together to encourage their church with its mission. They were motivated by their hope in God’s Gospel.
Celebrating what God as accomplished through faithful followers is important. Celebrating our past serves to remind us of God’s never ending love. His steadfast love as He blessed our efforts. Celebrating God’s faithfulness in the past strengthens our hope for the future. In this sometimes dark world, we have invested our hope, not in the memory of past accomplishments, but in our faithful God and in Jesus Christ, the light of the world.
This is an exciting time. We have a lot to celebrate, to honor the efforts of faithful followers through 150 years. This anniversary is the opportunity for thanks to God for His blessings. Pray our celebration of faithfulness will help us embrace the future.
