The Good News
Wherever we find ourselves, we are exactly where God wants us to be, because Hi is with us wherever we are. “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. They are the plans for peace, plans to give you a future filled with hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) developing relationships with people who are different in their values, actions and attitudes can be challenging. This is what we face living right where God wants us to be.
As digital capabilities increase, it’s important to not lose sight of what Jesus’ followers knew ages ago; get to know those who are close to us. Remember our neighbors, our family, co-workers and friends. “But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for the hope that is in you; do it with gentleness and respect” (1 peter 3:15). These are the people we can have real-time, face to face conversations. There is no down time here or loss of an internet connection. There is no wait after posting a comment to see if someone will reply. Instead, it’s as low tech and simple as having coffee together or getting a bit to ear for lunch. It’s easy, it’s old school and it’s something we all know how to do.
