This is “THRED”
Lutheran Hour Ministries’ on-line ministry, THRED, invites and encourages people to make on-the-ground connections with believers and non-believers. From its inception in February 2017, THRED has been dedicated to making and sustaining online social media through its website (thred.org) and Facebook page (facebook.com/THRED). It is designed to serve as a path and a connection. It is a safe place for people to converse about things they care about. THRED presents a Christian point of view, but it also presents an environment that is open to all perspectives. People of all beliefs or no beliefs are invited and welcomed into discussions of thought provoking topics.
For anyone who has questions or desires to dig a little deeper into issues such as relationships, community, culture, God and Christianity, and other contemporary topics. THRED’s website publishes short and long articles on life and faith themes. THRED also has a presence on YouTube, where Lutheran Hour Ministry’s growing collection of videos, including the “Jesus Dialogues”. THRED’s ministry volunteers can offer Christian perspective in broad discussions or one-on-one conversations to answer specific questions. All this is very much a work in progress. As THRED matures and gains experience to navigate social media, it gets better reaching people where they are, in their issues, struggles, and lives. It is important to sustain a conversation of enough duration and depth to lay a bridgework toward Christ centered topics.
