CHRIST WITH US
We enter the first season of the new church year December 1, 2024. This first Sunday of Advent is a sign to prepare for the coming of Christ. Advent continues to Epiphany, January 6, 2025. The Lord likes signs-a lot! That’s because the best signs of the faith help us to follow Jesus. The signs surrounding Jesus’ birth, of prophecies foretold and fulfilled. The birth of His cousin John point to the birth of Jesus. The divine way God guided Mary and Joseph. also Jesus’ life was spared from King Herold. These signs speak of God’s intimate involvement in our salvation. It is true that God deserves our worship and praise. This is the God who spared not the life of His own son, but gave Him up to save us from our sins. To which we can only respond, ‘Come, Let Us Adore Him!”
It is good to fill our lives with the signs of Christ. A good way to live during Advent is through the daily sign of the cross. It is a blessing to use often to feel reminded of God’s presence; to begin and end a prayer or identify as a Christian. How else can we live as Christians and prepare Advent and Christmas? We can pray for the Holy Spirit to fill the hearts and the lives of family and friends. Let’s exchange stories of Christmas family traditions. Let’s learn about other’s current spiritual situation and share what Jesus means to you. Invite your friends to make new traditions this year, read together Daily Advent devotions, attend Advent services or participate in holiday events.. Bring a friend or family member to help at a Christmas church activity. Getting to know people in a friendly event might make them attend future church worship. May our faith in God increase so that we may lead lives pleasing to Him..
