Nikolausabend – 2021

Date/Time
Date(s) - 12/05/21
4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join us for a Holiday Celebration for Local Families in Need. Bring a new toy or monetary gift to help make a child’s Christmas a little more special and stay for a complimentary meal and great fellowship!  You may also get your meal to go and eat in the comfort of your own home – whichever you prefer!  Simply call (952-955-1679) when you arrive, and we’ll bring your order out to you!

Both meals (BRAT MEAL IS SOLD OUT) include choice of hot apfelstrudel or vanilla ice cream for dessert.  Coffee, lemonade and water will also be served.

Pre-order your meal by November 30th.

Click on your choice below. On the following page, you will be able to add the quantity desired to your shopping cart. This is a free will offering, so you can specify the price you are willing to pay for each dish by typing it in the box next to price. NOTE: this price will be multiplied by the quantity you specify before adding to the cart. You will then also be able to select additional dishes to repeat the process until you are ready to checkout.

During the checkout process, you will need to specify the following: dine-in or to go, choice of dessert and the number of children in your party (we want to make sure Nikolaus has enough treats for all of the good children!).

100% of donations will go to local families in need through these nonprofit organizations:  Friends for Life Food Shelf (Watertown), WeCan (Mound) and Love Inc. (Delano).

History:

The 6th of December is St. Nikolaus Day in Germany. It starts the night before, when kids shine their boots and put them in front of their bedroom doors. According to folklore, St. Nikolaus will appear overnight and put little gifts into their boots if they have been ‘good’ throughout the year. ‘Bad’ kids will only receive a bunch of twigs (birch).
