LHM – October 2017 Message

Greetings, brothers and sisters, in the Name of our Lord Jesus!

On behalf of our staff at Lutheran Hour Ministries’ global headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as more than 30 ministry centers around the world, we rejoice with you in the celebration of 150 years of the Lord’s goodness through St. Peter Lutheran Church.  We praise God for the life and fellowship of your ministry and the witness that you have provided in your community to reach hurting souls with Gospel peace.

This is a time of great excitement throughout the church as we celebrate not only your anniversary, but the historic anniversaries of the Reformation, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and the International Lutheran Laymen’s League/Lutheran Hour Ministries.  What an incredible year for celebrating ministry.

St. Peter’s anniversary serves as a great opportunity to give thanks to God for His blessings and to celebrate what He has accomplished through faithful followers like your congregation.  Celebrating the past reminds us of God’s never-ending love and celebrating His faithfulness strengthens our hope for the future.  In this increasingly dark world, we invest our hope not in the memory of past accomplishments, but in our faithful God and Jesus Christ, the light of the world.

God has called all laypeople to be powerful witnesses for Christ to their families and communities, and we are honored by St. Peter Lutheran Church supporting The Lutheran Hour broadcast and our ministry’s mission of ‘Bringing Christ to the Nations-and the Nations to the Church’.  Thank you for allowing us to support and encourage you in your daily life, and for playing a vital role along with tens of thousands of other passion-filled members who drive our Gospel ministry as far as they can in faith.

God’s richest blessings as you gather for this historic celebration.  We pray that the Lord grants you a blessed day and that He continues to lead and guide your efforts as you take the Gospel forward in the 21st century.

In His Service,
Kurt Buchholz
